Why you were charged tax

We're required to collect sales tax based on the laws of the state and city where your order is delivered. Every state has different rules — what's taxable in one place may be fully exempt somewhere else.

My state doesn't tax clothing — why was I charged?

Some states, like Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, generally don't tax clothing. But exemptions can be specific about what qualifies, and not every item meets the definition in every case.
